Michael Steiner
String Bass
Michael Steiner has a bachelor's degree in music education from Michigan State ('73) and a master's of music education degree from the University of Montana ('77). He has taught vocal music for 12 years in public schools in Michigan and Minnesota, and has also worked for 16 years as a furniture designer/engineer. Currently, Mike is self-employed as an Organizer, Handyman and Landscaper. He plays double bass with the Wayzata Symphony Orchestra (former Allegro Symphonia) and sings in the Kantorei Chamber Choir. While in Michigan, Mike played with the Lansing, Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, Jackson and Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestras. Mike started teaching at the Academy of Music in the spring of 2009.
