About Us

The Academy of Music is an independent, non-profit organization founded to nurture and develop musical skill and sensitivity. It supports the many positive roles music plays in personal development, our communities and our culture as a whole.

• We're creating a positive environment to mentor students in a well-rounded program, while nurturing creative expression and service to enrich the lives of others.
• The Academy of Music is a community asset open to all.
• We offer private, group and ensemble instruction in nearly every musical discipline.
• Students may choose solo, collaborative, and ensemble performance opportunities at traditional recitals, community event and service projects, salon settings, or in church worship settings.
• We offer Music theory appropriate to needs and interest.
• Our popular musical theatre productions help develop and showcase musical and acting abilities.
• We take advantage of Music for You commissioning opportunities.
• Need based scholarships are available.
• Our organization is funded primarily through tuition, event revenue, and unsolicited donations, and is supplemented by grants and other fundraising activities.
• We deliver instruction primarily at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Excelsior Minnesota.
