Emily Olson

Emily Olson joined the teaching faculty of Mount Calvary Academy of Music in 2015. She enjoys the opportunity to work with a variety of ages of students and loves being able to see students' musical and technical progress. Emily works as a board-certified music therapist in a memory care community.  Emily served as adjunct instructor of oboe at St. Cloud State University from 2013-2020. 

A native of Minnesota, Emily received a Bachelor of Music degree in oboe performance from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where she was awarded the Presser Undergraduate Scholar Award.  Emily received Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in oboe performance from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and she also completed the music therapy equivalency program at the University of Minnesota.

Emily enjoys reading, spending time in nature, and writing letters.
